CEEC commends the article published by Archbishop Mouneer Anis (on the Global South Fellowship of Anglicans website) entitled: ‘Are we really a Communion?’ In this article Archbishop Mouneer writes with both sensitivity and conviction to express his concern regarding the possibility of the Church of England changing its position on marriage and human sexuality. In particular, he points to the fracture that could result between the provinces of the Global South and the Archbishop of Canterbury were the General Synod to endorse any change unsupportable by Scripture.

CEEC is grateful to the Global South Fellowship of Anglican Churches (GSFA) for their prayerful hope that the Communion will hold on to its historic and biblical understanding of marriage and for their public lead in this regard.
