Prayers of Love and Faith Resources for Diocesan Synod consultations
The Church of England has produced two PDF leaflets (a general update and a theological update) and a film (on YouTube) to resource forthcoming Diocesan Synod Living in Love and Faith consultations.
In response, CEEC offers a commentary on the leaflets to help inform those who hold to the existing doctrine of the Church of England on marriage and sex as they prepare for their Diocesan Synod consultations.
John Dunnett (chair of EGGS – Evangelical Group on General Synod) explains that while Delegated Episcopal Ministry sounds attractive, it cannot secure the flourishing of orthodoxy in the Church of England.
Charlie Skrine (Committee Member of EGGS) describes how Delegated Episcopal Ministry works for second order issues but not for the current state of change around LLF.
Films from CEEC that speak into the current situation
The Beautiful Story is a 30 minute film that explains how a biblical vision for human sexuality is good for individuals, the church and society as a whole.
Evangelicals love the Church of England and want to stay in it but deep divisions exist within the church over marriage and sex. ‘We Love the Church of England’ – is part of a collection of films made for churches to think through the implications of the Living in Love and Faith process.
